Product Detail

A hydraulic vane pump is a positive-displacement pump that uses a rotating cylindrical rotor with slots that contain vanes. The rotor is mounted inside a housing, which is typically crescent-shaped, and is also known as a cam ring. The rotor is eccentrically mounted within the cam ring, and as the rotor spins, the vanes are forced to slide outwards by centrifugal force and contact the inner surface of the cam ring.

The crescent-shaped housing is sealed off by two side plates, which help maintain a tight clearance between the vanes and the cam ring. This creates a series of chambers or pockets between the vanes, the cam ring, and the side plates, which are filled with hydraulic fluid. As the rotor continues to rotate, the volume of these pockets increases and decreases, creating a suction effect on one side and a pressure effect on the other side.
